Spiritual Teachings
Sayings II
The man who has no master has become a slave.  He insists that this is
the very hallmark of freedom and greatness.  Bust ask, if the Master-
less man continually serves himself, does he not become a slave to the
self?  Does it not dictate his actions making him predictable?  Who
trusts the self slave, others will say, "Oh look out, he is no good to
anyone but himself," and that slave is marked.  He is imprisoned inside
himself.  He is not free to exchange with others, and he is shunned.
Finally he begins to fade, and no one cares.  He hoardes, he acquires,
he is shackled to his oppressive law.  Only the servant of others goes
beyond himself.  Only the servant can live without limits, for he has
cultivated selflessly all life around him, and life embraces him, only
death avoids such a one.  He touches all, he embraces all, he is free to
be all through service of others.  He has no laws.
If anyone calls another his lord or master but does not become like his
lord, that servant is unfit for his lord's household.
If a man calls any lord who is humble his master, but does not himself
show humility to all, that man has not the stuff or making from within
to follow a humble master.
Any man who cries for justice and mercy, but does not show justice
and mercy when mercy is not convenient and justice is not in ones
favor, can not claim to have a master who has perfected the ability to
show these qualities when it was most inconvenient for that master.
If a man says, "My Master is compassionate," but is himself
indifferent when a stranger is needy for food or shelter, or does not
offer it saying, " the problem is too big for me," That man has lied
about who his master is.
If you give from your surplus to help it is OK, but if you continually
give, living in poverty with  your fellow man until all are satisfied, it is
the very reflection of heaven, which blesses without limits.
When others tell the man of light to shut his mouth or stop offering
to teach others, ask them to make a comparison with the great
south.  What did it take for civil justice in the United States?  Did the
southerners ask the slaves what they wanted or did they instead
silence them so that injustice could continue as planned.  People
caught in the dark always want the man of light to close the door so
that the house remains as it is, in darkness.  They do not want the
light to be let in.  The man of light speaks openly so that: the one
who has ears will hear or that the seed can be disseminated and
grow in the fertile ground.  The world prefers the darkness to the
light.  If a person is bothered by truth they will shun it.  If a person
desires to speak in anger against or be indignant of others who are
willing to speak about the light, then that person does not have
peace.  One who does not have peace is a child of ignorance.
Ignorance holds back peace, chains and binds it.  Ignorance demands
that the door be shut in its presence so that it is not destroyed by the
light of life, therefore if you can not stand these words of mine you
do not know peace.
The world would keep all as captives.  It would have the starving
starve, the underprivileged destitute, the poor remain so, the
suffering suffer, the wars continue.  The world would also have, the
rich growing fatter, the middle class pacified and the impoverished
serving the people with recourse to resources.  The world and all the
people demand the preservation of the present condition with one
face and with the other say, "what a shame about the state of
affairs, or, someone should do something about it."  Then, when a
simple man comes and opens the door by day they get angry and
shout, "close that door!"  They will not consider my path for it means
they would have to give up their current state of affairs, because
somehow each and every one of their affairs when challenged or
criticized has nothing to do with the current state of affairs.  The
man who asks what is truth, not tainted by desire, will keep his
honor.  The man who does not harm others will keep his Honor.  The
man who respects others without being respected back, keeps his
honor.  The man who criticizes injustice and ignorance keeps his
honor.  If the world requires the man of light to keep silent in their
presence, you can be sure that the man of light will keep his honor.
He has too much compassion for the poor, the oppressed, the
suffering to not share love with others and point out injustice, apathy
, and indifference.  The man of light even loves those who hate him
for he knows they are suffering with the burden of hatred and ego.
While there is injustice and suffering the man of light remains active,
out of compassion.
If a man gains the inner treasure, he will consider the condition of
the world so that he may help the suffering.  The spiritual man acts,
he does not remain passive.  The spirit dictates that he not only
guides the people to the ending of sorrow but condemns the world of
untruths and needless pain.  Alternatively, If a man believes that the
presence of an enlightened one will enlighten them by touch alone,
that man should know that his soul, which is inside him, could have
done that already if God really worked in that fashion.  What kind of
God works like that, having a direct conduit, not use the conduit, yet
need an external conduit?  If God needs an intercessor rather than
the pure  divine already in the people then that God is dysfunctional
and crippled.
A man of spirit is not a revolutionary, but because he speaks the
truth the world is threatened, for it does not accept the truth.  To
accept the truth it would have to wake up, and if the world wakes
up, it would have to destroy its sleep, and since its sleep is
threatened the man of spirit is thought of as a revolutionary since
his truth threatens.
